Rohit Sharma's Cheeky Interaction with Shardul Thakur Goes Viral

Ahead of the highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Mumbai Indians (MI), a playful banter between Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Shardul Thakur has captured the internet's attention, going viral across social media platforms.

The Viral Moment

Mumbai Indians shared a video showcasing the interaction that took place on the field. The video depicts Rohit Sharma engaged in a conversation with LSG’s Shardul Thakur and former MI mentor Zaheer Khan. Thakur initiated the playful exchange with a cheeky comment directed at Rohit.

“Rohit Sharma ek hi jan ho dekhne aate hain, The Lord.” (Rohit Sharma comes to see only one person, The Lord).

Rohit Sharma responded with a chuckle, acknowledging the playful nickname. It was revealed that the Indian skipper himself had originated the moniker for Thakur.

Shardul Thakur's Late Inclusion and Performance

Shardul Thakur joined the LSG squad as a late replacement for Mohsin Khan, who was sidelined due to an injury. Since joining the team, Thakur has consistently delivered strong performances. His current record includes:

  1. Six wickets in three games.
  2. Best performance: A four-wicket haul against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, contributing significantly to LSG’s victory.

Rohit Sharma's Form and Team Expectations

While Shardul Thakur has been impressive, Rohit Sharma has faced challenges with his batting form in this season’s IPL. He has accumulated only 21 runs in the three matches played thus far. Following a disappointing finish in the previous season, MI will be eager for Rohit to regain his top form and contribute significantly to the team's campaign.

“I am sure we will be singing his praises when he comes and he gives us that big score and then we will be on to the next hot topic,' stated Kieron Pollard, MI’s batting coach, expressing confidence in Rohit's ability to bounce back.
